LUKE MORRIS AHEAD OF THE DARLEY YORKSHIRE OAKS

Star mare Alpinista will bid to add a domestic Group 1 to her European haul when she lines up as favourite for the Darley Yorkshire Oaks, the feature race on Day 2 of the Skybet Ebor Festival at York.

Sir Mark Prescott's stable star's been unbeaten in more than a year and lines up at the head of a cracking field which includes the winners of the British and Irish Oaks in 2022 and a challenger from France, as part of the British Champions Series.

As usual Alpinista will be ridden by Sir Mark's stable jockey Luke Morris, who has been speaking with Mike Vince.

JIM CROWLEY ON BAAEED VICTORY

Jockey Jim Crowley's described Baeed's thrilling romp to victory in the Juddmonte International at York as the best day of his racing career.

The 4 year old, trained by William Haggas made it 10 wins from 10 starts with a six and a half length romp in the one million showpiece, with last years winner Mishriff trailing in his wake in second.

An emotional Jim Crowley gave Mike Vince his reaction.

Mark Johnston on the 63rd John Smith's Cup

One of the iconic British Handicaps, the £200,000 John Smith's Cup,is the traditional centrepiece of saturday's card on the Knavesmire.

A  maximum field goes to post for the ten furlong race, with a host of runners having chances.

You have to go back to 2009 for the ast Yorkshire trained winner, and those hoping to end that sequence include Mark Johnston, who runs the four year old Forest Falcon, to be ridden by Franny Norton.
