Dods bid for back to back wins in Queen Mother's Cup

A year after a famous win, Sophie Dods will bid for back to back wins in the most prestigious race for Lady Riders, the Queen Mother's Cup, on Macmillan Charity Day at York.

But this time she will have her twin sister Chloe in opposition.

The winning riders prize includes her weight in champagne and a year ago Sophie's reward was used for the twins birthday party.

Sophie rides Billy No Mates while Chloe is on board Archi's Affair.

Both are trained by their father Michael, who is a man under some pressure....

Carol Bartley's reaction to winning the Queen Mother's Cup

Arctic Fox, ridden by Carol Barltey has won the prestigious Queen Mother's Cup on Charity Day at York.

Carol won her weight in champagne after steering the Richard Fahey three year old to victory, despite drifting to the stand rail in the closing stages.

Bartlery also won the race in 2013 and she gave Mike Vince her reaction to this memorable victory.

Ride of Their Lives - Kate Poulter Interview

11 brave riders will head to post on saturday week for York's annual Charity Race in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support- the Ernest Cooper and Macmillan ride of their lives.

It'll bring the curtain down on the annual charity day on the Knavesmire and will be the culmination of months of training.for the riders who were told at Christmas their application, from the dozens received, had been successful.

The riders have all passed a Riding Skills assessment at the Northern Racing College NRC, and will have two course walks with former Champion Jockey Kevin Darley..

The riders so far have raised in excess of £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, and we know this total will increase further, both before and for some weeks after the race, on a day that has broken the £500,000 barrier for the last few seasons.

Last years race produced an amazing dead- heat and amongst this years hopefuls in Kate Poulter from nearby Middleham.

She's been speaking about her preparations for the big day.
