STATEMENT ABOUT THE ALARM ACTIVATION ON SUNDAY 11 MAY

York Racecourse shared in the disruption caused by a City Fibre alarm activation on Sunday 11 May.

The operators, City Fibre, have apologised to all residents in the neighbourhood and we would echo that apology, albeit for circumstances beyond our control.

The Racecourse first notified City Fibre of the activation at 8.32am, thereafter the team continued to press for a resolution.

For sake of clarity, the network box that was responsible for the alarm is neither York Racecourse owned nor operated. It is part of the City Fibre network that provides broadband services to the South Bank Area.

It is not a network used by the Racecourse itself.

We understand City Fibre are investigating both the fault and their slow response to it.
