This June a famous Yorkshire chef has teamed up with a famous Yorkshire sporting venue to offer a memorable afternoon of good food and good racing.
Tommy Banks, owner of Michelin-starred The Black Swan at Oldstead and Roots York, is bringing Roots to the Races, on Summer Music Saturday, 27th June.
The award-winning chef will be taking over both the kitchen and front of house in the Dante Suite at York Racecourse.
Expect a specially curated four-course menu showcasing seasonal ingredients, prepared with Tommy’s unique flair that highlights the best of Yorkshire produce. Served with a choice of fine wines, beers and soft drinks, as well as a glass of perfectly chilled Brut Champagne upon arrival.
A luxury Yorkshire Afternoon Tea will complete a culinary experience to remember.
Tables for 2-10 are reserved for the day, guests will have access to a private balcony with seating, which is directly opposite the finishing line for the seven races including the Group 3 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Criterion Stakes. Full television coverage of the action, not to mention tote at table courier service is part of this exclusive day out.
After racing the same balcony affords a great view of the Music Stage where Becky Hill will perform live.
Being a Tommy Banks culinary event, the “takeaway signature pie” will offer a final treat as the sun sets on the Knavesmire.
