York Racecourse has confirmed that the County Stand Enclosure for Saturday 27 June has now reached capacity, so will not be available for sale on the day, nor in advance.
(updated 11am on Tuesday 23 June)
For those wishing to have the best experience of the Becky Hill concert, the clear advice is to advance book for Grandstand & Paddock where there is still availability. Racing and music fans are advised to make use of the Advance Booking option on the website as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Clocktower Enclosure, the area in the middle of the course known by some as the Picnic Enclosure, will be available on the day itself. The gates for this area open at 11.15am. It is not possible to advance book for Clocktower Enclosure, so the advice is to arrive early as it is likely to be a popular option. Especially as accompanied under 18s are admitted free to this area. As with all venues, there is a capacity limit for Clocktower Enclosure; please check our Social Media on the day to see if that capacity has been reached.
To be in front of the stage, it is necessary to have purchased Hospitality, County Stand (now reached capacity) or Grandstand & Paddock (still available to advance book) admission.
A Glastonbury scale sound system will relay the music over the course to Clocktower Enclosure, that does offer a view of the stage from a distance. The giant screens will bring the stage show to those in Clocktower Enclosure or on the Champagne Lawns.
Hospitality options are also still available with the added treat of a day in the Voltigeur Restaurant or being spoilt by Michelin-starred chef, Tommy Banks, as Roots comes to the Races.
In response to the hot and sunny weather, the dress code in County Stand has been relaxed to no jacket required, no tie needed, collared shirts please. There will be water available for free in all areas. Horse welfare protocols for hot weather will be followed including misting fans, equine showers, canopies for shade and water at all points.
A seven-race programme, backed by Al Basti Equiworld Dubai, will offer almost £300,000 in prize money.
Racing and music fans can look forward to a concert after racing from the English singer- songwriter who rose to fame after appearing on the first series of The Voice UK. Becky Hill has since gone on to post six top 10 hits in her career to date. Her first UK Number One was Gecko (overdrive), with Disconnect, Remember and Crazy What Love Can Do also featuring. Twice a Brit Award winner as Best Dance Act, racegoers can expect a high energy performance from the stage, after the seven races earlier in the afternoon.
The highlight on the course is the Group Three Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Criterion Stakes, a contest that offers £100,000 to seven-furlong specialists. The winning horse will be offered a “run for free” in the recently elevated Group One Sky Bet City of York Stakes, over the same course and distance, on Saturday 22 August.
Gates will open at 11.15am, with a range of lunch options from the Gimcrack Restaurant to freshly delivered seafood, Fish ‘n’ Chips, Yorkshire gourmet hotdogs and cheese toasties.
The Champagne Terraces and Bustardthorpe End Lawn are both destinations to enjoy champagnes from the House of Gardet as well as Guinness 0.0.
A Living Flower Wall as well as the 360degree camera offer ways to capture some Proper Memories from the day.
The quality racing & Becky Hill combo is proving popular so advance booking for Grandstand & Paddock is recommended.
