Busted to perform at York Racecourse

HEADLINING SUMMER MUSIC SATURDAY
29TH JUNE 2019

Transporting you to the ‘Year 3000’ for a night of fun, frolics and fantastic racing, pop-rock heavyweights BUSTED will be storming Summer Music Saturday at York Racecourse on the 29th June.

Busted have grown up without growing old on their new album ‘Half Way There’, playfully leaning towards the nostalgic and the reflective. York Racecourse is set to bask in that nostalgia and yet be taken back to the future as the trio return to their hyperactive sound for the first time since 2003’s all-conquering, multi-platinum ‘A Present For Everyone’.

Matt, James and Charlie will be playing tracks from their recent #2 charting album plus all their greatest hits live – among them the simply huge, unforgettable smashes ‘What I Go To School For’, ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Year 3000.’ They are one of the biggest homegrown pop acts of the 21st century with an incredible five million record sales, two 4-times platinum selling albums and four number one singles to their name.

To book visit yorkracecourse.co.uk; admission to the main Grandstand and Paddock enclosure starts at just £25 per person for a group of six* and racegoers aged 5-17 enjoy a special rate of just £10 (subject to limited availability). As well as free car parking, there are no booking fees.

On the racecourse itself, The sunbets.co.uk Stakes will be the £50,000 centerpiece of a seven-race card that will precede the concert.

It promises to be a fun filled summer for racing and music fans, with James Arthur headlining Music Showcase Saturday on the 27th July and another soon to be announced headliner for Friday evening 26th July. Keep an eye open for further announcements coming soon.

James Brennan, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship said,
“Busted are a band we’ve been keen to have at York Racecourse for some time as we know the crowds will know and love the music and the party atmosphere they’ll provide after some great racing at Summer Music Saturday.”

Editors’ Notes:

These are integrated events and admission is not available on a "concert only" basis; indeed the gates will be closed at the time of the last race.

* With the group of six discount applied, advance booked admission to Grandstand and Paddock is £25 per person, the same size group in County Stand is £38.50 per person. An individual can advance book at £39 for County Stand and £29 for Grandstand and Paddock. The Picnic Enclosure is only available for sale on the day at £15 however does not offer the opportunity of getting close to the stage itself, though it is in sight.

*Racegoers aged 5-17 are admitted at a special rate of £10, subject to availability. To help them enjoy their day and to be fair to everyone, an adult will need to accompany racegoers aged under 16, with a limit of two under sixteens for each adult.

This is an outdoor concert. To get closest to the stage, visitors will need to have either a County Stand or Grandstand & Paddock admission. The position of the stage for 2019 is as recent years, at the southern end of Bustardthorpe Lawn on the main grandstand side. It is at about the one furlong mark, some 20 metres from the track facing parallel to the direction of running. The elevation of Knavesmire Stand steppings offers a view over the stage and the angle permits viewing of races and stage from the County Stand Lawn. We will make good use of the giant screens for both racing and concert viewing.  Please note in order to get closest to the stage racegoers will need to book entry to County Stand or Grandstand & Paddock; thereafter there are no reserved positions. Please note the price of admission reflects the wider facilities provided for the duration of the raceday and does not reflect a reserved position nor preferential view of the stage.
