TOM MARQUAND CROWNED LEADING JOCKEY 2021

Tom Marquand is the Living North Champion Jockey at York Racecourse in 2021.

The rising star of the weighing room sealed his decisive win when booting Canonized home for his boss William Haggas in the Coral Rockingham Stakes on the final day of the season on the Knavesmire.

His other highlights included success with Roberto Escobarr in the Skybet Grand Cup in June.

Tom spoke with Mike Vince after collecting the award.

Daniel Muscutt after winning the feature race of Macmillan Charity Day

Trainer James Ferguson and Jockey Daniel Muscutt have enjoyed the best day of their careers at York to date by saddling First Folio to win the Paver Foundation Sprint, the feature race on Macmillan Charity Day at York.

The grey carried the colours of some 4,000 members of Owners Group, and in a finish dominated by horses trained low, he beat outsiders Blackrod and Ey up its Maggie.

A delighted Muscutt gave Mike Vince his reaction.

Tom Marquand after the Sky Bet Grand Cup

Roberto Escobarr has booked his place in the £500,000 Skybet Ebor at York in August, by winning the final 'win and you're in race', the Grand Cup on the Knavesmire as part of the Charity raceday.

The four year old, trained by William Haggas,who has yet to win the Ebor,was ridden by Tom Maquand to a length and a half victory over Red Verdon.

Aime Waugh after the Queen Mother's Cup

Aime Waugh will head home from York victory Racecourse with a boot full of Ayala Champagne after booting Nicholas T to victory in the Queen Mother's Cup on Macmillan Charity Day.

The oldest runner in the race beat the 2019 winner Arctic Fox by a length, with Waugh winning her weight in champagne, the traditional jockeys prize after the most prestigious race in the Ladies Riders calendar.

She spoke with Mike Vince afterwards.
