PERTEMPS WELCOMED AS A MAJOR SPONSOR TO YORK RACECOURSE

York Racecourse is delighted to announce that Pertemps Network, one of the UK’s leading independent recruitment specialists, will become a major sponsor at the Sky Bet Ebor Festival when it headlines the season on the Knavesmire, from Wednesday, 23 August, to Saturday, 26 August.

The Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks will be the Group One feature contest of Ladies Day at the Festival. It becomes part of the Pertemps portfolio of significant races that includes the Pertemps Network July Cup, as well as the longstanding 22-race, international Pertemps Hurdle Series, culminating in the final at Cheltenham, during Gold Cup Week.

The York contest was first staged in 1846 and has a significant roll of honour, including “Queen of the Turf” Enable, and last year’s victor, Alpinista, who gave connections a memorable York-Paris Group One double.

With the new three-year partnership in place, the prize money remains at a record level of £500,000 for 2023, as well as being a part of the prestigious QIPCO British Champions Series.

Commenting on the news, York Racecourse Head of Sponsorship, James Brennan, said: “Everyone at York is delighted to welcome the team from Pertemps to the Sky Bet Ebor Festival. We are excited to be working with a supportive partner who demonstrates such a commitment to British Racing.”

Pertemps Network Lifetime President, Tim Watts added: “Pertemps has a rich pedigree of supporting horse racing in this country for many years, including as a significant backer of the Cheltenham Festival and, more recently, of the July Cup and the Lincoln Handicap.

“Operating nationwide, we are delighted to now have a Yorkshire showpiece and to be involved with such a prestigious race on such a big occasion. We are looking forward to it immensely.”
