York Racecourse welcome Madness and finalists from ITV's X Factor

York Racecourse is pleased to announce that Madness will be the headline act  on the opening evening of Music Showcase Weekend, Friday July 23rd (click here to advance book). The day two meeting combines great racing on the track with live music from the stage. On Saturday July 24th, four of the Finalists from ITV’s X Factor, Olly, Lucie, Rachel and Jamie will complete an afternoon of entertainment (click here to advance book).

James Brennan, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship said, “I’m really looking forward to seeing Madness perform at York, they are such a great live band that the atmosphere will be something special.”

The high quality racing action features a £40,000 Listed race on Friday evening; the European Breeder’s Fund Lyric Stakes; with over £200,000 on offer on Saturday including the prize of the Group Two Sky Bet York Stakes.

James Brennan continued,” The support of Sky Bet has seen this Saturday blossom and record crowds attended last year to enjoy Frankie Dettori followed by wonderful performances from the X Factor Stars, we can’t wait for more of the same this year.”

The two days of racing form part of the Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival supported by Sky bet and Welcome to Yorkshire; a nine day celebration of racing across the county when all eight course will stage a meeting.
