Breeders' Cup success for Vale of York

Godolphin's Vale of York clinched the Grade 1 Grey Goose Breeder's Cup at Santa Anita, narrowly beating Lookin at Lucky in the last strides.

Speaking after the race, Simon Crisford, Goldolphin's racing manager talked of the Kentucky Derby being the next target for the 2 year old colt.

Vale of York fittingly won his maiden here at York, winning the racinguk.com Median Auction Maiden Stakes in July. He won with Ahmed Ajtebi on board, who also partnered him in his Breeders' Cup triumph. Although victory later illuded the colt in the Acomb Stakes during the Ebor Festival on the Knavesmire.
