As York's Premier Enclosure you gain access to the award winning Ebor Stand, Listed Old County Stand, viewing steps of the Melrose Stand and popular Champagne Terrace. The ground, first, and fifth floor are open to County Stand badgeholders with the Ebor Bistro housed on the first floor and a selection of bars and viewing areas on the remaining two.

Enjoy lunch or afternoon tea in the Gimcrack Rooms, or sip a glass of champagne on the bustling Champagne Terrace. You can go down to the Winning Post to catch a glimpse of the horses dashing by or view them from the lawns. The excitement of the Parade Ring and Winner’s Enclosure are close at hand.

Coming to York is often a celebration and this area provides the chance to dress up as Ladies often wear hats and gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie. Please click here to view our dresscode.

Admission includes a complimentary racecard, which includes much more than the information on the runners & riders. Please note a County Stand badge also allows you access the Grandstand & Paddock aswell as Course Enclosure.

Admission into the Grandstand & Paddock allows you access to the areas highlighted on the map under Grandstand & Paddock, it's the biggest area of the course and you can come casually dressed.

Enjoy a drink in the award winning Knavesmire Stand taking advantage of the bars spread over the various floors, many with spectacular views across the track and seated viewing areas. Alternatively, the Bustardthorpe Lawns provide the perfect trackside viewing whilst relaxing with food or drink from our variety of good food to go options.

You can get to the main betting ring at the front of the stands as well as the Parade Ring. The largest enclosure here at York with a raceday atmosphere to match.

Concessions are for collection on the day of racing as proof of age is required, those requesting these concessions must provide formal supporting documentation: a UK driving license, government issued ID card or passport are acceptable. Children under 18 are admitted free (under 16 with accompanying adult only).

Course Enclosure admission cannot be booked in advance but can be purchased on the day of racing.

This is the most informal area of the racecourse and is often chosen by families who want to combine fresh air and a picnic with the thrill of the sport. It offers a view of the finish and has a full range of bar and food areas. There is only limited wet weather shelter and you'll need to follow the Parade Ring action on the giant screens however it does offer great entertainment at the most affordable prices.

Food and drink can only be taken into the Course Enclosure, where picnics are welcome.

In response to concerns about children and the risk of cuts to bare feet over the summer months, the track has introduced a ‘No Glass Please’ policy. Picnics remain welcome in this area however racegoers will need to pack with a little more care to avoid glass. The team at York will have some safer alternative carriers available for people to decant their drinks, relishes or jams and are offering a “left glass storage” facility.

For Press Family Sunday in September Course Enclosure and Grandstand & Paddock are combined. For more information please click on the view fixture details for the meeting.

Located on the second floor of the Melrose Stand with its own balcony looking over the Home Straight, the Lounge was opened to much acclaim in May 2010.

There are only 200 places each day and the smart yet relaxed ambiance seems to have struck a chord with many regulars at York.

It offers the perfect touch of luxury for a family occasion and has seen Silver Weddings and graduation congratulations enjoyed.

The atmosphere makes it ideal for entertaining business guests at the races when a smaller party or more informal style is appropriate. If you are wanting to bring a party of ten then the Ebor restaurant is well worth considering (just call Berni on 01904 638971).

It is important to note that the informal nature and lounge style means that seating arrangements are casual, using sofas, armchairs, stools and poseur tables. The Lounge offers a chance to mingle with your fellow racegoers and does not have reserved seats.

In 2012 as well as enjoying all the benefits of County Stand admission, a Melrose Club Lounge Badge includes::

- Exclusive use of the Melrose Club Lounge itself with a balcony offering prime viewing across the home straight as well as a splendid conservatory that overlooks the Weighing Room.

- Yorkshire Tapas (canapés and lite bites) where local and seasonal ingredients are prominent.

- Light Afternoon Tea.

- Credit card account on the bar throughout the day.

Please note that in order to best retain the club atmosphere, party size is limited to 20 guests, please call the team on 01904 620911 to discuss options for larger groups.

Juniors cannot be booked in advance as proof of age is required, those requesting these concessions must provide formal supporting documentation: a UK driving licence, government issued ID card or passport are acceptable. Children under 16 are admitted free with accompanying adult.
