York As a City

Having won Northern Racecourse of the Year 2007 York is one of the Premier tracks in Europe. The racecourse also came out top in the Times 2001 newspaper survey of all Britain's racecourses.

York traces a fascinating history back to Roman and Viking times. Today it is a bustling city growing as a commercial, tourist and regional centre.
