York Racecourse hosts tourism summit
The annual UKinbound convention was held here at York Racecourse in the first week of February. The convention will attracted a record 200 delegates consisting of tourism industry bosses from across the country.
A variety of topics were covered including the continuing importance of the tourism industry to the UK national and regional economies aswell as covering the implications of 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the inbound tourism industry.
Commenting on the convention, Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire speaking before the event, said, 'We are delighted UKinbound chose Yorkshire as a desitination for its 2010 Convention.
'This offers us a real opportunity to impress major decision makers. York is a perfect setting and I'm sure York Racecourse, the attractions, and hotels supporting the event will give all delegates a warm welcome to Yorkshire and create the impact we need to ensure the message gets out that Yorkshire is the place to be up to 2012 and beyond.'
