YORK RACECOURSE RECOGNISED IN NEW TOURISM AWARDS

York Racecourse was delighted to be one of four organisations short listed by Visit York for the award of “Best Eating Place” at a glittering awards dinner held at the course that celebrated tourism in the region.
The Racecourse was proud be judged alongside the many fine restaurants in the city including those with Michelin stars and to reach the final was recognition for both the quality and diversity of the food on offer on the Knavesmire.
Commenting on the success, William Derby, Chief Executive and Clerk of the Course said; “We work hard to offer our customers quality, choice and value and it’s fantastic when an independent judging panel recognise that commitment. As a city York has many great places to eat and I’m proud that the team here want to be judged against those high standards”.
The judges will have noted the popularity of both the Ebor and Voltigeur Restaurants where the Grand Buffet concept is delivered with such aplomb as well as the launch of the Eclipse Restaurant and improvements to the Knavesmire Restaurant which cater for different budgets.
William Derby concluded “ With the new season starting on Wednesday May 14th, we’ve got some new ideas that I believe will find favour with racegoers and we look forward to helping tourism prosper in the city.”
