OCTOBER FINALE WITH INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL AND MUSICIANS

The final chance to enjoy racing on Knavesmire for 2006 will be on Friday October 6th and Saturday October 7th.
A relaxed start to Friday with a first racetime of 2.20pm ahead of a competitive six race card with the TSG Stakes providing an £18,000 purse for highly rated milers.
The final day of the season gets underway at 2.05pm and will showcase the talents of top sprinters in the Coral Sprint trophy. The final pattern contest of the York season is the Newton Investment Rockingham Stakes a six furlong Listed race for stars of the future.
The feature races from Ascot are set to be shown on the racecourse TV system.
The band of the Coldstream Guards will provide the musical finale to the season, with these world class musicians entertaining the crowd from the bandstand.
The England v Macedonia football international (K.O.5pm) is scheduled to be shown on the "big screen"
On both days the gates will open at 11.15am
